Lori Quider

Here's some things you might not have known.....

I Attended: Canterbury Elementary (K-6th)

Pacoima Junior High (7th), Madison Junior High (8th & 9th)

              Polytechnic High School (10th-12th)

California State University Northridge, BA, and CA Credential

California State University San Bernardino, Reading Recovery Certificate

I've work at: Bassett Elementary School from 1987-1998 and

Valley Alternative Magnet School/Lake Balboa College Preparatory Magnet from 1999- present.

- I have 4 brothers.  One lives in Santa Rosa, on lives in Hemit, One lives in Santa Clarita and one lives in

New Zealand. I spent 4 weeks in New Zealand during our Spring which is their Fall.  My most memorial moments were Bungy Jumping and Black Water Cave Rafting.  I also visited Lion World and  nuzzled and kissed a 4 month old lion.  That was awesome.  Ever since I was 6 h have always loved lions!  It might have had something to do with the movie Born Free. It rained every day in New Zealand.  It was extremely green and my hair was really curly.

- I now have 1 dog named Makenzie.

- I love to tent camp at Bass Lake with my family and friends.  I have a really awesome camping set-up.  My tent has 3 rooms and it is 224 square feet.  I have a separate 2 room tent to take a shower.  The cooking area has cabinets for our dishes and food, an oven with 2 burners, and a grill.  We also place our food table so it faces the lake.  Our family has been going to Bass Lake since 1952!  Unfortunately, I have missed going when I taught at a year round school.  Bass Lake host a variety of animals.  I have heard the bears at night, but fortunately, I have not seen or run into one.

Lori and Teaching

I am starting my 32nd year of teaching.  I have taught kindergarten, first grade, and I am currently teaching second grade.  This is my ninth year teaching second grade.  I have a certificate in Reading Recovery. I have been a VAS/LBCPM Family member since 1999.  I love this school and teaching. Math and Science are my favorite subjects.  I will be retiring at the end of this school year.  I want this year to be my best!
